The Electronic Arts continues to work to expand the Origin , its online store that sells games in digital format for PCs . More than a home for their own games, EA has now closed a distribution partnership with 11 third party games available for them in the catalog of Origin . Rift , the MMO Trion Worlds , is one of the first great titles on sale. Beyond this specific games were not disclosed, only that the "coming months" to sell Origin games Robot Entertainment (the creator of Orcs Must Die), CD Projekt RED (Witcher 2), Freebird Games (To the Moon), Recoil Games ( Rochard), Autumn Games (Jimmie Johnson's Anything With An Engine), 1C Company (IL-2 Sturmovik), inXile Entertainment (Choplifter HD) Paradox Interactive (Magick), Core Learning Ltd. and N3V Games (Arcania: Gothic 4). The obvious competitor of Origin is the Steam , who had a big growth in 2011. To win market, Electronic Arts created the strategy to sell some of their games exclusively by Origin : Like Battlefield 3 , the highly anticipated Mass Effect 3 will require players to PC account in a store, and will not be sold by Steam .

With third party developers, independent titles and big games, the Origin certainly win the market, but will hardly overcome Steam , which has many more features and is now established not only as a store, but as a complete gaming platform. What's next, EA ?
