Intel develops new memory standard that promises greater efficiency

Intel was convinced that evolution is not included memories of jumping performance CPUs and GPUs. Because of this, the company would be doing their part in the future and already thinking of replacing the standard DDR4 , which are not even a reality of today's market.

Currently, the memory of the processor receives data and stores them and sends them again as the system demand. The process traffic information is not exactly efficient by today's standards processor capable of caching that add more and more features such as GPUs. It is estimated that the new 3D architectures from Intel deem room for the possibility of a new conception of RAM.

On the agenda of the studies Intel is creating a memory interface that is not only proportionally much faster, but also up to 100 times more efficient in energy consumption than we see today. Although memories are not great villains in electricity consumption, the efforts of the entire hardware industry are converging to create more economical products without losing the focus on performance.

If the result is a type of memory as low appetite, it is believed that the standard would not only market in the hardcore computer applications, but also on mobile devices, which increasingly rely on miniaturization, performance and consumption shrinking energy in devices that add more and more technology.
